It is always a wonderful thing when a company grows. We are ecstatic that our games are loved by so many and that we continue to build a wonderful community of fans. But just as many companies do as they grow, we have definitely encountered our share of growing pains. We’ve made mistakes along the way, but we have learned from them. We have definitely learned from those mistakes. Mike and Brent have spent a lot of time talking to some of our friends at other publishers for advice so we can avoid making the same mistakes twice.

One of the things our team desperately needed was someone to help us make sure all moving gears of a growing company stay well-oiled and continue moving the company in a forward motion. So, we are excited to introduce our newest team member, Ryan Bruns.

Ryan is our Program Manager. So what does that mean? Well, he will be wearing a few different hats at Elf Creek Games, as is the way of working for a small company. He will mainly be focusing on project management and localization (licensing our games to other publishers to make our games available in different languages).

Ryan is no stranger to the board game industry. He has previously worked for Mayday Games, Queen Games, Floodgate Games, and OffDutyNinja. An avid lover of board games, Ryan helped establish a large board game group in his home State of Utah.

We asked Ryan a few questions to help you get to know him a little better!

Q: What is one of your favorite board game memories?
A: The first time I attended Essen, was always a dream of mine to go.

Q: What is your favorite kind of game?
A: Mostly story-driven, area control, and any trick taker...ok I like them all.

Q: What is your favorite game?
A: Overall it's Tichu, but I'm cult of the new so currently Ark Nova.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of board games?
A: Golf, Cooking, Watching the Green Bay Packers, Reading

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
A: I love this hobby and the people it brings together. Have met and still meet many amazing people from all over the world who share in this great hobby.

Ryan is already a great addition to the Elf Creek Games family and we can’t wait to see all the ways he will help our company continue to grow.

If you see us at a convention this year, definitely stop by and say hi to all of us and help us give Ryan a warm Elf Creek welcome!
